The CND Shellac System is the ‘Future of Nail Technology’

The CND Shellac System advances the curing process with a next-gen lamp that doesn't use UV or LED light—plus 140+ high-performance nail color shades.

The CND Shellac System features a next-gen curing lamp innovation.

The CND Shellac System is hitting the professional beauty market on July 1st. It’s by CND, a leading company in professional nail products found in many salons and spas. Is it the “future of nail technology,” like the company says? Read on.

The CND Visible Light Lamp is a critical part of the new system. It advances the nail polish curing process with its next-gen technology that doesn’t require UV or LED light. Plus, like a high-tech beauty tool for nails, it incorporates red light therapy.

As for nail color, CND offers over 140 high-performance colors in its Shellac collection.

“With the relaunch of Shellac, CND combines its history of innovation with real feedback from salon owners and nail professionals,” says Lynn Cote, CND Global Education Manager and Salon Owner. “The CND Visible Light Lamp eliminates traditional UV light curing, offering pros and clients a new approach to Shellac.”

How the CND Shellac System Works

The next-gen curing lamp in CND’s Shellac System features “Visible Light Technology,” a gentle curing process. “It precisely cures CND products for service longevity without using UV/LED diodes,” the brand states.

“Visible light cures as effectively as UV light while delivering a complete cure necessary to assure proper adhesion, toughness, and wearability for all CND light-cured systems,” according to the company’s statement.

The system delivers additional benefits. It improves curing of highly opaque coatings, enhances the “depth of cure” on high-viscosity formulas, and helps reduce wrinkling in pigmented shades. It claims to deliver 21-day wear with a fade-resistant finish. Using the Shellac Epic Smoothing Base will ensure damage-free removal while supporting natural nail integrity.

The cordless lamp is rechargeable and has a removable baseplate for pedicures. Its ergonomic and stackable design will appeal to nail salon owners.

Plus—Red Light Therapy for Nails

The innovative lamp features an optional red light feature that adds a spa-like element to the service experience.

“The new CND Shellac System also introduces optional red light technology that clients will love. It is designed to elevate the salon experience,” adds Cote.

Relaunching CND’s Shellac Collection with Updated Packaging

CND’s Shellac franchise is relaunching, timed to coincide with its new system and curing lamp innovation. Six new retro-inspired shades celebrate the Shellac collection’s relaunch. Plus, ten pro-favorite colors are returning. In addition, there are two base coats and four top coats.

Updated packaging further addresses the needs of salon professionals. Labels on the front of the bottles are color-matched to the polish color, making it easy to grab the correct one. The nail polish bottles are also larger at .42oz. The new bottles hold 68% more product than the old Shellac bottles, which were .25oz.
